4 Principles For Attracting Investors

Posted on Aug 10, 2012 | 0 comments

Saw an article by Dorry Kordahi (BRW Young Rich List) in Think & Grow Rich Magazine, outlining his principles for attracting investors. It’s basic stuff but like all the best advice, it usually is simple!

  1. Prepare a brief business plan and cash flow forecast, (all investors will want to know how long it will take to see a return on their investment) which should include a description of your proposed product(s) and a case for why the world needs it/them, how you will go about selling it/them and to whom.
  2. Decide how much you think you will need, be realistic and have the facts and figures ready to justify the amount.
  3. How much of your company are you prepared to hand over for the investment?
  4. Do you want an active or passive investor? The former can probably offer help in actually running the company as well as investment, whereas a passive investor will offer
money but no actual help. So think which you might feel most comfortable with.
